The experiment was done by using a four-ball friction test rig.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-1124 size-thumbnail\" src=\"http:\/\/castoroil.in\/b\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/castor-oil-pic-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"Castor oil\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The results showed that a small amount of ionic liquid can postpone the peak coefficient of friction and decrease the wear behaviour. In addition, the chemical adsorption of castor oil and ionic liquid on a steel surface is more significant than physical adsorption.
