{"id":1904,"date":"2016-02-06T07:42:36","date_gmt":"2016-02-06T07:42:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/castoroil.in\/b\/?p=1904"},"modified":"2016-02-06T07:42:36","modified_gmt":"2016-02-06T07:42:36","slug":"new-source-of-biodiesel-with-less-viscosity-from-castor-oil","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/castoroil.in\/b\/2016\/02\/new-source-of-biodiesel-with-less-viscosity-from-castor-oil\/","title":{"rendered":"New Source of Biodiesel with Less Viscosity from Castor Oil"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Recent study has found a new source of biodiesel from castor oil which has less viscosity than the original castor oil.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Castor oil cannot be used as such for biodiesel production due to its <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-1454 size-thumbnail\" src=\"http:\/\/castoroil.in\/b\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/images-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"castor oil\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/>high viscosity.\u00a0 Hence scientists from Singapore have found an alternative method to produce low viscosity biodiesel from castor oil.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">By chemical modification of ricinolein in castor oil and methyl Ricinoleate, new products called ketone-containing glycerides were obtained. These ketone containing triglycerides were used for the production of biodiesel.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The biodiesel obtained by this method was found to have low viscosity.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Thus, vehicles can now run with a fuel which has less viscosity.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><a href=\"http:\/\/onlinelibrary.wiley.com\/doi\/10.1002\/ejlt.201500120\/abstract\" target=\"_blank\">Source<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Recent study has found a new source of biodiesel from castor oil which has less viscosity than the original castor oil.
