Castor seed prices flared up by Rupees 57 to Rs. 4337 per quintal in futures trading at the beginning of this week. This was due to the participants, creating huge positions, tracking a firm trend at the spot markets on strong demand. 
At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, castorseed for delivery in April climbed Rs 57 or 1.33 per cent to Rs 4,337 per quintal, with an open interest of 1,00,740 lots.
